USAMOOS2526 | Mach III Publishing Books | USA Military Out of Service 2025/2026 - Andy Marden
A note from the Author, Andy Marden:
This is the tenth edition of USA Military Out of Service. As usual, the main aim is to detail out of service military aircraft which can be found on airfields, ranges, preserved in towns and museums, and junked in scrapyards. The book also includes details of warbirds where a base is known. Unmanned aircraft and rockets are not included, even if they do wear serials. I have included some c/ns, but generally ONLY when they have been read from the aircraft concerned.
As usual I have not covered AMARG as there are already excellent publications available that deal with this, notably the series by Martyn Swann.
GPS co-ordinates are given where known. They may be for the actual location of the aircraft or hangar, the airfield entrance, or in some cases where to see the aircraft from. Please check for yourself before setting out on your trip. I have stopped listing museum opening times as they have a habit of changing - please check before setting out. It is now very difficult for foreign nationals to gain access to museums on military facilities. Several US Army installations have changed names on the recommendation of a Department of Defense Naming Commission (although at least one has reverted to its original name since the re-election of Donald Trump).
Please remember that this book is intended as a reference work. It is not an authority to trespass on private or government property!
