The McDonnell Douglas MD-82 is a stretched, rear-engined narrowbody from the MD-80 family, a mainstay of short and medium-haul fleets through the 1980s and 1990s. China Southern operated a large MD-82 fleet, some assembled locally in Shanghai. Limited to 60 pieces.
