The F/A-18E/F Super Hornet is an American twin-engine carrier-based multirole fighter developed by McDonnell Douglas and Boeing. Designed for air-to-air and air-to-ground missions, it features an enlarged airframe, increased fuel capacity and upgraded avionics compared with the earlier F/A-18 Hornet. The single-seat F/A-18E and two-seat F/A-18F entered US Navy service in 1999 and remain in service today.
