The AD-3 Skyraider was an American single-engine carrier-based attack aircraft developed by Douglas Aircraft Company. Designed for close air support, interdiction and anti-shipping missions, it featured a large radial engine, a spacious internal weapons bay and multiple external hardpoints for carrying bombs, rockets and torpedoes. It entered US Navy service in 1946 and remained in American service until 1973.
