The MiG-15 was supplied to China by the Soviet Union in the early 1950s and became a cornerstone of the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). It was used as a high-performance transonic fighter and saw combat during the Korean War, where it helped establish air superiority over UN forces. The MiG-15 remained in frontline and training service for several decades before being gradually replaced by more modern indigenous and imported fighters.
