We proudly present the latest Aviationtag edition of the English Electric Canberra PR.9 – a legendary military aircraft of the British Royal Air Force. The English Electric Canberra was a British twin-engine Cold War-era fighter aircraft built since 1944.
The history of our Canberra PR.9 with the registration XH135 takes us back to 1959, where it was originally built as the H135. She served as a reconnaissance aircraft and light bomber for the Royal Air Force until 1982, when she went into storage with RAF St. Athan. After a temporary reactivation, the PR.9 was finally retired in Kemble in 2006.
After a few failed private rescue attempts for the XH135, the Canberra was finally scrapped – except for the cockpit – in 2022 and now lives on as an Aviationtag Edition.
