The A-6 Intruder was an American carrier-based attack aircraft designed to deliver conventional and nuclear weapons in all-weather conditions, day or night. Featuring a robust airframe, advanced navigation and attack systems, and a large weapons payload, it became one of the US Navy and Marine Corps' principal strike aircraft during the Vietnam War. It entered service in 1963 and remained in US service until 1997.
