The F-117 Nighthawk was an American single-seat stealth attack aircraft developed by Lockheed's Skunk Works division. Designed to conduct precision strikes against high-value targets, it used faceted low-observable shaping and carried its weapons in internal bays. It entered US Air Force service in 1983 and was retired from active service in 2008.
