HA38069 | Hobby Master Military 1:72 | F-16A Golden Bat Viper 85-1565, 185 ARW, Iowa ANG, 2022 | is due November 2025
The F-16A "Golden Bat Viper" is a commemorative aircraft from the 185th Air Refueling Wing (ARW) of the Iowa Air National Guard. In 1996, to celebrate the unit's 50th anniversary, the squadron unveiled a gold-painted F-16A, aircraft 85-1565, affectionately known as the "Golden Bat." This aircraft featured the distinctive "Pride of Siouxland" inscription and a gothic-style bat tail flash, symbolizing the squadron's heritage and pride. In 2022, to honor both the 50th anniversary and the U.S. Air Force's 75th anniversary, the 185th ARW unveiled a newly painted F-16A in the same gold livery, replicating the original design. This aircraft, a static display, serves as a tribute to the unit's history and its contributions to national defense.
