The F4U Corsair was Vought's gull-winged fighter of the Second World War, and the F4U-4 was its most powerful wartime version. Capt. Kenneth Walsh, the first Corsair pilot awarded the Medal of Honor, flew with VMF-222 from Awase on Okinawa in 1945.
