The Chengdu J-10 entered People's Liberation Army Air Force service in 2004 as a single-engine, multirole fighter with a canard-delta configuration. Designed for air-superiority, strike and maritime-attack missions, later variants introduced an AESA radar, improved avionics and compatibility with modern beyond-visual-range weapons. The J-10 remains in active service with China and Pakistan, with the J-10C representing the current production standard.
