With a flight from Munich to Vienna on May 14, 1923, the “Austrian Air Transport Corporation” entered the still nascent field of commercial aviation. Between 1923 and 1929 it operated no less than 22 Junkers F13s on a tight network throughout Europe – from Madrid to Moscow, from Rome to Copenhagen. Following the annexation of Austria into Nazi Germany in 1938, ÖLAG was merged into Deutsche Luft Hansa.
